Discussion on Application of Drone Realistic 3D Model in Forest Fire Prevention and Control

Abstract In recent years, with the continuous introduction of relevant policies for the development of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) in China, the application of UAV has reached new heights, and its application areas and scenarios are constantly expanding, playing a crucial role in various industries. As a critical derivative product of UAV, the three-dimensional(3D) real scene uses UAV equipped with professional surveying and mapping cameras to capture images from multiple angles along a predetermined flight path, which are then imported into the 3D modelling software to generate real 3D model. It can reflect the spatial-temporal information of human production, life, and ecological space in a real, stereo, and time-sequenced manner. In some areas, it has gradually replaced two-dimensional (2D) data and played a big role in multiple industries. Starting from the technical characteristics of UAV tilt photography and real-time 3D modelling, and combined with the forest fire risk survey of major projects in China over the past two years, this article explores the crucial role and significant value that real 3D model of UAV can play in forest fire prevention under new situations and new technologies, providing technical references for relevant forestry departments.
