Analysis of Control Effect of Plant-derived Thymol on Rice Blast

Abstract China is a big agricultural country, and rice is the main food crop. China’s population base is huge, the demand for rice is also large. Rice blast is a common disease in rice production, mainly caused by blastomyces oryzae. It can occur throughout the whole growth period of rice, resulting in a large area of rice yield or even no grain harvest. In the treatment of such diseases, the application of chemical fungicides is effective, but the random use of chemical fungicides will lead to the problem of pathogen resistance and chemical pesticide residues, so it is necessary to study a low-toxicity and effective fungicide. The main component of the natural compound thymol from plants is thyme. This kind of plant volatile oil has good bacteriostasis and high safety, and it has good bacteriostasis effect when applied to the treatment of crop pathogens. The effect of plant derived natural compound thymol on rice blast control was studied to provide ideas for safe and efficient control of rice blast.
