自行車在巴黎市中心現(xiàn)在比汽車更受歡迎
Paris was used to be full of bicycles when the Tour de France1 cyclerace went down the Champs-佴lys佴es in the middle of summer. Now bicycleuse is growing in Paris, and more people now travel by bicycle than by car inthe center of the city. That’s according to a report from the Institute2 ParisRegion (IPR).
The report found that Parisians use bicycles for 11% of trips in thecenter of the city, and use cars for only 4% of trips in the same area. In2010, just 3% of trips were made by bicycle. To find out about residents爺3travel habits, the IPR gave more than 3,000 people—aged between 16 and80—a GPS unit and asked them to complete travel diaries4.
Walking and traveling by public transport5 are still the most common6ways to move around the city center, but bicycles have become more popular. For many years, the city has been encouraging7 its residents to spend moretime on bicycles and less time in cars. Millions of dollars have been spentmaking the city easier to travel around by bicycle, and Paris now has morethan 1,000 kilometers of safe cycle roads.
