大學校訓翻譯的體認考察

[摘要] 本文結(jié)合體認翻譯學的相關(guān)主張,以四川外國語大學“海納百川、學貫中外”校訓翻譯為實例,通過剖析校訓翻譯的實際過程發(fā)現(xiàn),校訓雖然是一個與文學文本不同、具有多重特質(zhì)的特殊文本,但其翻譯過程也是多個譯者互動體驗與認知加工的過程,因此體認翻譯學對于校訓翻譯也具有較強的解釋力。

Translation of College Mottoes in Light of Embodied-Cognitive Translatology

Abstract: Employing the theory of Embodied-Cognitive Translatology (ECT), this paper discusses the translation process of SISU’s new motto “Global Vision, Academic Excellence”. It is found that the translation of college motto, as a special text different from literature with its own characteristics, is de facto a process where each translator produces his rendering through an interactive embodied-cognitive process. Therefore, the theory of ECT can well be applied to explain the process of motto translation.
