From November 22 to 23, Massimo Ambrosetti, Ambassador of Italy to the People’s Republic of China, visited Chongqing. On November 22, Li Mingqing, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, met with the delegation led by the ambassador.
Deputy Secretary Li Mingqing welcomed the delegation on behalf of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Chongqing Municipal People’s Government. He said Chongqing and Italy had carried out close cooperation and exchanges in recent years under the framework of the China-Italy comprehensive strategic partnership and yielded positive results. Chongqing is fully implementing President Xi Jinping’s important instructions and requirements, and the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress to speed up the modernization drive of new Chongqing. He hoped that Italy and Chongqing would continue to solidify and deepen their friendship, build closer economic and trade ties, and strengthen practical cooperation in advanced manufacturing, education, science, technology and innovation, as well as culture and tourism. These endeavors will bring higher levels of win-win development in a wider range of domains and in a more sustainable way.
Ambassador Massimo Ambrosetti applauded the new achievements made by Chongqing during the advancement of high-quality development. He expressed his willingness to contribute to the steady development of the China-Italy relations by continuing and deepening bilateral cooperation in the manufacture of new energy vehicles, cultural exchanges and cultural heritage conservation.
In Chongqing, he attended the closing ceremony of an exhibition, “The Source of Wisdom: Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello, Dante, and Italian Design and Manufacturing,” and examined the international cooperation on conserving Dazu Rock Carvings.
