Summary of the best evidence for the management of constipation in patients with acute myocardial infarction

Abstract Objective：To search，evaluate and summarize the best evidence of constipation management in patients with acute myocardial infarction，and provide reference for clinical nursing practice.Methods：Evidence-based questions were constructed using the PIPOST model，and systematic searches were conducted for evidence from the BMJ Best Practice，UpToDate，the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence，Guidelines International Network，the Australian Joanna Briggs Institute Centre for Evidence-Based Health Care，the Cochrane Library，PubMed，Web of Science，EMbase，CINAHL，CNKI，WanFang Database，and VIP for all evidence related to constipation in patients with acute myocardial infarction.All evidence related to constipation in patients with acute myocardial infarction，including guidelines，clinical decisions，evidence summaries，best practices，expert consensus，systematic evaluations，Meta-analysis and original studies closely related to the evidence.Results：A total of 16 articles were included，including 3 clinical decisions，5 guidelines，4 expert consensus，and 4 randomized controlled trials，resulting in a total of 21 best evidence in 6 areas，including assessment and diagnosis，early mobilization，constipation care，Chinese medicine treatment，health education，and organizational management.Conclusion：The best evidence summarizes in this study on the prevention of constipation in patients with acute myocardial infarction can provide an evidence-based basis for clinical practice.Relevant nursing measures should also be further improved in clinical application by combining hospital conditions，patients′ wishes and professional judgment.
