Hu Henghua Meeting with the Delegation Led by Grahame Robert Morton, Ambassador of New Zealand to China
On April 12, Hu Henghua, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, met with Grahame Robert Morton, Ambassador of New Zealand to China, and his Delegation.
Hu Henghua welcomed Grahame Robert Morton and his delegation on behalf of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, and briefed on Chongqing’s social and economic development. The Mayor highlighted the closer exchanges between Chongqing and New Zealand in recent years, which contribute to the positive results of pragmatic cooperation in domains such as trade, education and culture. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of China-New Zealand comprehensive strategic partnership. Chongqing is ready to work with New Zealand to earnestly follow through on the important common understanding reached between the two heads of state, and enhance the high-standard opening-up and cooperation by capitalizing on the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). Relying on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, Chongqing is willing to expand its business and exchanges with New Zealand, and deepen the collaboration in fields such as education, tourism, green and low carbon development, and sister city relationship. All these endeavors of Chongqing aim to facilitate more progress in the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and New Zealand.
Grahame Robert Morton emphasized that the cooperation between New Zealand and Chongqing enjoys a good momentum. He expected deeper mutual understanding, more people-to-people exchanges, and extensive collaboration. The Ambassador also invited Chongqing companies to invest in New Zealand for a win-win outcome.
