Hu Henghua Meeting with Alberto Blanco Silva, Ambassador of Cuba to China

On March 19, Hu Henghua, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Chongqing Municipal Government, met with Alberto Blanco Silva, Ambassador of Cuba to China, and his delegation.

Zhang Guozhi, Vice Mayor of Chongqing Municipal Government, attended the meeting.

On behalf of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Chongqing Municipal Government, Hu Henghua extended a warm welcome to Alberto Blanco Silva and his delegation, highlighting that China and Cuba are good friends, comrades, and brothers. The special friendship will be deepened in the new era under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state. Chongqing is following through on President Xi Jinping’s important instructions and guiding principles. Step-by-step endeavors are made to facilitate the implementation of China’s national strategies, such as the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-Hub Mega-Region, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the development of China’s strategic hinterland, and thus bring the modernization drive of New Chongqing to a new height. Chongqing is ready to work with Cuba to keep up closer exchanges at all levels and facilitate cooperation in domains such as trade, automobiles, motorcycles, biomedicine, culture, and art, thus achieving win-win outcomes and pursuing common development.

Alberto Blanco Silva introduced the socio-economic development of Cuba. He was impressed by the significant changes in Chongqing over the years since his first visit and expected more extensive collaboration in fields such as industry, new energy, logistics, and culture based on the important consensus made by the two heads of state. He invited Chongqing companies to invest and operate in special economic zones in Cuba and usher in a new chapter of friendly cooperation.
