Abstract Objective:To define the concept of excessive screen exposure in preschool children by applying the Rodgers evolutionary concept analysis.Methods:PubMed,Web of Science,CNKI,WanFang Database,and VIP were searched for literature related to excessive screen exposure in preschool children.The retrieval time was from the inception to July 2023.39 articles were selected according to the inclusion criteria,and the Rodgers conceptual analysis framework was applied to analyze,integrate,and illustrate the content of screen exposure in preschool children in terms of the evolution of the concept,attributes,antecedent variables and outcomes,and measurement tools.Results:There were 5 antecedent variables of excessive screen exposure in preschool children,including gender,age,caregiver′s literacy,caregiver′s behavioural attitudes,and economic conditions.There were 3 attributes,including sedentary behaviour,assistive management tools,and behavioural addiction.Conclusion:The concept of excessive screen violence in preschool children is sorted and analysed to help further develop interventions and measurement scales for screen exposure and to promote healthy development of preschool children.
