AbstractObjective：To evaluate the effects of kinesio taping on ankle swelling degree，pain degree and ankle function in patients with acute ankle sprain through Meta-analysis.Methods：Randomized controlled trials on kinesio taping in the treatment of patients with acute ankle sprain were searched from the Cochrane Library，PubMed，Web of Science，CNKI，CBM，WanFang Database and VIP.The retrieval time was from the establishment of each database to January 2022.Two researchers independently conducted literature screening and data extraction according to inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria.Cochrane risk Assessment Tool was used to evaluate the methodological quality of the included literature，and RevMan5.3 software was used for Meta-analysis.Results：A total of 10 articles were included.Meta-analysis results showed that on the first day after intervention，the degree of swelling in the intervention group was lower than that in the control group［MD=-1.08，95%CI（-1.94，-0.22），P=0.01］;Immediately after intervention and during follow-up，the pain score of the intervention group was lower than that of the control group［SMD=-0.79，95%CI（-1.30，-0.29），P=0.002］［SMD=-0.87，95%CI（-1.52，-0.22），P=0.009］；The ankle function of the intervention group was better than that of the control group［SMD=1.15，95%CI（0.39，1.92），P=0.003］，the difference was statistically significant.Conclusion：Current evidences show that kinesio taping is effective in the short-term detumescence treatment of acute ankle sprain，but the long-term treatment effect is not obvious.Kinesio taping can relieve the pain of patients and improve the ankle function.
