Early ambulation in patients undergoing lumbar interbody fusion：a scoping review

Abstract Objective：The application of early motion in lumbar fusion surgery was reviewed in order to provide reference for clinical practice and related research.Methods：Systematic searches were conducted on PubMed，EMbase，Web of Science，the Cochrane Library，CNKI，SinoMed. The search period was from the establishment of the database to November 30，2022. Literature screening and data extraction were conducted independently by two researchers.Results：A total of 19 articles were included to analyze and integrate the content of early activity after lumbar fusion from the aspects of surgery type，early activity program，evaluation index and so on.Conclusion：The timing of early getting out of bed for patients after lumbar fusion is not clear，and the activity program and evaluation indicators are heterogeneous. In the future，evidence-based systematic，comprehensive，scientific and personalized early getting out of bed activity program should be developed in combination with relevant scientific and technological means to promote postoperative rehabilitation of patients and improve patient satisfaction.
