Study of prediction model of nursing human resources based on human factors engineering theory

Abstract Objective:To explore the influencing factors of nursing workload and build the nursing human resource prediction model based on the theory of human factor engineering.Methods:The nursing workload and related data of 149 nursing units in a tertiary grade A general hospital in Wuhan were retrospectively collected from July 2020 to June 2021.Multivariate linear regression was used to construct the prediction model of nursing workload.A total of 10 inpatient nursing units from July 2021 to December 2021 were selected to verify the prediction model.Results:Bed utilization rate, nursing grades Ridit value,occupational risk, case mix index,and average length of stay in different units were the influencing factors of nursing workload (P<0.001).The predictive model of nursing human resources was established:the number of nurses to be equipped in a nursing unit=the total number of nurses in each nursing unit×(-2 028 065.592+522 787.791×bed utilization rate+2 130 102.936×nursing grade Ridit value+20 274.444×occupational risk score+194 676.133×CMI-37 701.479×average length of stay)/total nursing workload.Conclusion:The nursing human resource prediction model constructed based on the human factors engineering theory in this study has strong practicability,and it can provide a basis for the scientific allocation of nursing human resources in various medical institutions.
