OUTLINE / Zhang Qiulin is one of the few eminent altos in the world.After winning an international competition in the 1990s， she studiedabroad and has successfully established herself on the Europeanoperatic stage for almost three decades. This article follows her trainingand experience as an alto and her views on the operatic art.
